EOS®, the Entrepreneurial Operating System®, is a complete set of simple concepts and practical tools that have helped thousands of entrepreneurs get what they want from their businesses. Implementing EOS will help you and your leadership team get better at three things:
- Vision — getting everyone in your organization 100% on the same page with where you’re going, and how you plan to get there
- Traction® — instilling focus, discipline and accountability throughout the company so that everyone executes on that vision—every day
- Healthy — helping your leaders become a more cohesive, functional and healthy leadership team
What is an Operating System?
In the world of computers, an operating system is the underlying software platform that powers your device. But in this context, an operating system is the underlying system, or set of systems that power your business. It’s the set of concepts and tools the company uses to develop a cohesive business strategy.
Many think of this as a strategic plan; a term that often gives rise to visuals of thick reports relegated to the top shelf in an office bookcase to gather dust until it comes time for planning for the next year. Knowing this, it starts to make sense that a staggering 90% of businesses routinely fail to execute their strategic plans successfully.
In many cases, a significant part of the problem lies in operational leadership – or to be more specific, the failure to have a leadership plan in place. Add to this, 75% of U.S. executives have entered a business leadership role feeling unprepared.
A true operating system is so much more than a strategic plan. It is not only a plan for the future, but for putting in place the people and processes to ensure that plan is successfully executed. It’s not a fluffy, feel-good motto – in fact, it’s the opposite of that. It is a living document that is referenced frequently and used to guide every major decision of a company.
The structured framework it provides, gives your company vision, direction, and accountability, while ensuring that your company is always driving toward improvement in the areas that matter most.
